Making of a historical looking Leather covered bottle.

A couple of days ago, we emptied a bottle of St Brendan's Irish cream. My husband, of course wanted to throw away the empty bottle, but I took it, as I had a perfect idea to reuse it by! Why not recycle it and turn it into a historical looking leather bottle?! First thing was to remove the label, all you need to do is let the bottle soak in very hot water... after a few minutes the labels will just slide off it leaving no glue residue behind. Next step was measuring how much leather I would be needing to complete this project. Since I had never worked with this bottle size before, I had to improvise a pattern from scratch... so I just drew the bottle onto the inner side of the leather and added around 2,5 cm extra. Next step was shaping the leather to fit the bottle perfectly. For doing so, I used some sewing aid clips that I have, they worked out perfectly without leaving any marks on the leather.
